Any data collected from you or about you will not be used for direct marketing. If there are any circumstances where direct marketing is proposed, your consent will be sought.
HOW THE COMPANY WILL PROCESS DATA
The Company’s HR Dept keeps and maintains your personnel file. Managers may also keep files about you. In all cases where personal data is kept about you, this will be collected and processed in accordance with the principles of the Act and this policy.
THE COMPANY’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The Company maintains personal data in secure conditions and processes and where personal information is collected, the Company will ensure that it will:
- make the purpose for which it is collected clear and give any other information required to make the processing fair.
- ensure that the individual has given consent to the processing of information (unless the company is otherwise satisfied it is processing the information lawfully).
- collect and process only appropriate information, and only to the extent that it is needed to fulfil operational needs or comply with legal requirements.
- seek to ensure the quality of information used.
- apply checks to determine the length of time information is held.
- ensure that the rights of individuals are capable of exercise in compliance with the act.
- apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures to safeguard personal information.
- ensure that personal information is not transferred abroad without consent of the individual or suitable safeguards.
In addition, the Company will ensure that:
- everyone managing and handling personal information is appropriately trained and understands that they are responsible for adhering to good data practice.
- queries about handling personal information are promptly and courteously dealt with.
- a regular review and audit is made of the way personal information is managed.
- methods of handling personal information are regularly assessed and evaluated.
